Interstate 10 crosses the Mississippi River before entering Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from the west and continues east through New Orleans. Traffic is frequently heavy, and sometimes comes to a halt during rush hour. Each of the major interchanges on this section of the interstate hosts at least three hotels or motels. They fill up quickly during events at nearby Louisiana State University.

Exit 163 - Siegen Lane

Siegen Lane, on the eastern edge of the city, provides access to residential neighborhoods and a shopping mall.
