Caring Hands’ Traveling Notary Service is designed to assist busy professionals and individuals who need a Notary to be available at a time and place of their convenience. The Washington, D.C. metro area is a fast paced and time sensitive community. Finding a Notary and getting to their location is not always an option. Caring Hands’ Traveling Notary specializes in traveling to: places of business, client’s homes, hospitals, or any predetermined meeting location. We also maintain a downtown office that is open to the public.
As a Traveling Notary, we can perform the following functions:
- Witness and attest signatures: Verify proof of identity (government issued driver’s license, passport or employee identification card) of the person signing a document. Observe as a document is signed.
- Administer Oaths and Affirmation: An oath is a spoken, solemn promise to a Supreme Being that is made by a Notary, (i.e. “I solemnly swear that the statements in this document are true, so help me God.”) An affirmation is a spoken, solemn promise on one’s honor, with no reference made to a Supreme Being, which is made before a Notary, (i.e. “I solemnly affirm that the statements in this document are true.”)
- Copy Certification: Certify that a document is a copy of an original.

Do a internet search for mobile notary business or notary forum, you can find plenty of information online. Spend alot of time reading and researching. This is not the best time to start in this field as business is down in most areas, due to the problems in the mortgage and real estate markets. I have been doing this business for 4 years. It is not an easy thing to do, starting your own business. You need to consider all the costs involved. You need a business plan, and to do plenty of research before you start. Good Luck!
